Day 20: Revival, Awakening & Spiritual Hunger
21 Days of Prayer
Revival, Awakening & Spiritual Hunger
(2 Chronicles 7:14; Psalm 85:6)
Welcome to Day 20 of 21 Days of Prayer
We are nearing the end of our 21 days, and today, we make a singular, powerful request: We are praying for revival—real revival.
Not emotional hype, not temporary excitement, but a deep, Spirit-born awakening that transforms people from the inside out. Revival always begins the same way: with hunger.
God gives us the precise blueprint for moving from cultural decay to spiritual healing:
2 Chronicles 7:14 (ESV):
“If My people who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
Our part is clear: Humility, Prayer, Seeking, and Repentance. Our longing is the Psalmist’s longing:
Psalm 85:6 (ESV):
“Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?”
Revival begins with humility. It grows through repentance (not shame, but a restoration of fire). It is sustained by prayer. And it is fueled by a desperate spiritual hunger.
We are living in a time of great cultural tension, moral decline, and spiritual confusion—but this is also a time of great opportunity. People are hungry—hungry for truth, hope, peace, identity, purpose, and real transformation.
Today, we pray for revival in our church, our cities, and our families. Specifically, we pray for:
- Deep repentance that cleanses and restores fire.
- Fresh hunger—for prayer, the Word, worship, holiness, and mission.
- Breakthrough among the apathetic, the discouraged, and the spiritually numb.
Revival doesn’t start with the world. It starts with us.
Your 21-Day Prayer Focus: Day 20
Today, we position ourselves to receive a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Pray specifically for these three things:
- For Humility and Repentance (2 Chronicles 7:14): Ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart and bring conviction about any known wicked ways or prideful independence. Pray for a deep, corporate spirit of humility and repentance within TLC that opens the door for God to hear and heal.
- For Breakthrough from Apathy: Pray specifically for the discouraged, the apathetic, and the spiritually numb in our church family. Ask God to ignite a fresh hunger for prayer, the Word, and worship that breaks the chains of lethargy and disappointment.
- For Spiritual Awakening in Our Cities: Pray for revival to move beyond the walls of the church and into our cities (Clifton, Wood-Ridge, Paterson). Ask God to heal our land by transforming leaders, families, and institutions through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Your Action Step for Today
Action: Set aside a moment for personal repentance and consecration. Ask God to search your heart and awaken a fresh spiritual hunger in you.
Confession: Say this out loud:
“Lord, revive us again. Stir fresh hunger in Your people. Pour out Your Spirit on Transformation Life Church so that we may rejoice in You.”
Walk today with expectation: Revival starts with us. Lord, do it again!
