Day 14: Persecuted Church & Global Crises
21 Days of Prayer
Persecuted Church & Global Crises
(Hebrews 13:3; 1 Timothy 2:1–4)
Welcome to Day 14 of 21 Days of Prayer
Yesterday, we prayed for the unreached. Today, we turn our hearts toward believers around the world who are suffering for their faith. The persecuted church is not an abstract idea—it is our family, our very own body.
We are commanded to remember them—not with vague sympathy, but with prayer that is fervent, informed, and compassionate.
Scripture leaves no room for detachment; our suffering family must be at the forefront of our prayers:
Hebrews 13:3 (ESV):
“Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body.”
We pray not just for protection, but also for peace and salvation for their leaders and nations:
1 Timothy 2:1–4 (ESV):
“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions… be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life… God… desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
Right now, believers are experiencing imprisonment, violence, discrimination, and isolation. Some can’t gather publicly; some cannot own Bibles; some are risking their lives to share Christ.
Today, we move from praying for our own comfort to praying in solidarity with our family.
We are asking God for:
- Courage, protection, deliverance, and supernatural strength for the persecuted.
- That their faith would not fail, but shine brighter.
- That their enemies would encounter Jesus and be radically converted.
- That revival would spread in those difficult places.
We are also praying for nations facing global crises—war zones, natural disasters, political upheaval, and humanitarian emergencies. Let God’s mercy move through His people to bring relief, hope, and salvation.
Your 21-Day Prayer Focus: Day 14
Today, we intercede for our courageous brothers and sisters and the world’s most vulnerable. Pray specifically for these three things:
- For Strength and Deliverance (Hebrews 13:3): Pray specifically for Christians suffering persecution (imprisonment, violence, job loss) in countries on watch lists. Ask God for their physical protection, mental resilience, and spiritual strengthening, and that He would grant miraculous deliverance.
- For Leaders and Salvation (1 Timothy 2:1–4): Pray for the kings and high authorities in nations that suppress Christian faith. Ask the Lord to soften their hearts, bring them to the knowledge of the truth, and grant us a time of peace and religious freedom for the sake of the Gospel.
- For Global Crises and Mercy: Pray for nations in crisis due to war, disaster, or famine. Ask the Lord to release supernatural provision through relief efforts, and that the local church in those areas would be a beacon of hope, healing, and salvation to their communities.
Your Action Step for Today
- Action: Take a moment to intercede deeply for Christians suffering for their faith. Imagine yourself in their shoes, and pray as if you were praying for your own family.
- Confession: Say this out loud:
“Lord, strengthen our persecuted brothers and sisters. Cover them with Your power and deliver them. Bring peace to nations in crisis, and use our church as a voice for the voiceless.”
Walk today with expectation: When we stand with the suffering, we stand where Jesus stands.
