21 Days of Prayer
Local Outreach & Community Impact
(Matthew 5:14–16; Acts 1:8)
Welcome to Day 12 of 21 Days of Prayer
We’ve covered our foundation, our power, and our families. Today, we are turning our attention outward—to the communities God has sovereignly placed around us.
Cities like Clifton, Wood-Ridge, Paterson, and the surrounding areas are not just random places to live. They are our assignments.
Jesus is clear about our mission and impact right where we live:
Matthew 5:14–16 (ESV):
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden… let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Our good works are not for our own glory; they are meant to point others to the Father. This is fueled by the Holy Spirit’s power:
Acts 1:8 (ESV):
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
For us, “Jerusalem” means local outreach. It begins with proximity—the people near us: our neighbors, coworkers, friends, the hurting, the isolated, and the spiritually hungry.
God has not called Transformation Life Church (TLC) to be a church that hides its light. We are called to:
- Shine brightly.
- Serve selflessly.
- Reach boldly.
- Love loudly.
We must bring the Gospel into the streets, the schools, the parks, the apartment complexes, and every corner of our cities. When the church leaves the building, the world gets brighter.
Your 21-Day Prayer Focus: Day 12
Today, we are praying for our communities and for the effectiveness of our ministry beyond our walls. Pray specifically for these three things:
- For Open Doors and Open Hearts: Pray for the communities immediately surrounding our campuses (Clifton, Wood-Ridge, Paterson). Ask the Lord to open doors for the Gospel and to prepare the hearts of those who are hurting, lonely, or spiritually hungry.
- For Good Works and Compassion Ministries (Matthew 5:16): Pray for our compassion ministries, local partnerships, and upcoming outreach events. Ask God to give us divine opportunities to love people well and serve with such excellence that our good works clearly point people to the Father.
- For Personal Witnessing Power (Acts 1:8): Pray for boldness and clarity to be effective witnesses. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you the courage to initiate open conversations about faith and the strength to step out and shine His light intentionally this week.
Your Action Step for Today
- Action: Pray specifically for your street, apartment building, or neighborhood by name. Ask God to give you one intentional opportunity this week to shine His light right where you live.
- Confession: Say this out loud:
“Lord, make us a bright light to our community. Open doors for the Gospel. Use us to bring hope to our cities and glory to Your name.”
Walk today with expectation: You have the power and the assignment to be a witness where you are.
