“EATING GODLY SALAD!”
(Psalms 95:1-11; 97:1-12; 98:1-9; 100:1-5)
“For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.” – Psalm 95:3
I enjoy having a good salad before I eat the main course of my dinner. Tomatoes, cucumbers, croutons, carrots, cheese, and a choice dressing on the top! There are many things that can be found in a salad, but the primary ingredient found in most salads is lettuce!
And, today, in Psalm 95, we find that a necessary ingredient of a “godly salad” is plenty of “lettuce” – actually, “let us”!
-
- Let us sing to the Lord! (:1) – Your musical ability doesn’t matter – we need to sing to the Lord!
- Let us make a joyful noise! (:1 & :2) – It’s not just music – you can make a joyful noise to the Lord!
- Let us come into His presence with thanksgiving! (2) – It is vitally important to come to Him, and to do it with a heart of thanksgiving!
- Let us worship and bow down! (:6) – Make a purposeful decision to worship Him. Bow down before Him. Submit to Him!
- Let us kneel before the Lord (:6) Kneeling before Him is a sign of submission to His will and His ways.
- Let us sing to the Lord! (:1) – Your musical ability doesn’t matter – we need to sing to the Lord!
Simple Truth:
Your day will always begin the right way when you make purposeful decisions for Him!
Reflections and Application:
- Even though a radio station may be broadcasting, you can only hear it if you tune into its frequency. Each day we need to tune into God’s “frequency” and hear His voice! That’s the only way you will hear from him!
- The decision must be made and re-made every day to humble yourself before the Lord.
Closing Prayer…
Heavenly Father, today I make the choice to worship You. I choose to give You thanks. I choose to worship You, bow down before You, kneel at Your throne, and acknowledge that You are Lord. I must decrease, You must increase. I humbly submit myself to You, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
