“GOD FIGHTS THROUGH OUR OBEDIENCE”
(Exodus 9:1 – 11:10)
In Exodus 9-11, Moses continues to stand before Pharaoh as God’s chosen messenger, demanding the release of the Israelites. Despite Pharaoh’s hardened heart, Moses remains obedient, trusting God’s power to act on behalf of His people. Through the plagues of boils, hail, locusts, and darkness, God reveals His authority over Egypt and all creation. Finally, in Exodus 11:1, God declares the final plague: “I will bring one more plague on Pharaoh and on Egypt. After that, he will let you go from here.”
Moses’ obedience and persistence remind us that God often fights for His people through those willing to trust and act according to His Word. Though the Israelites could not free themselves, God used Moses to confront Pharaoh and demonstrate His power. Just as Moses stood in faith on behalf of Israel, we too can trust God to fight for us when we follow His leading.
Reflection:
Moses’ fight for the people of Israel shows us how God works through His servants to accomplish His purposes:
- Obedience Opens the Door for God’s Power: Moses remained obedient to God’s instructions, even when Pharaoh resisted. Our obedience invites God to work in and through us for His glory.
- God’s Power is Greater Than Any Opposition: Pharaoh’s stubbornness could not overcome God’s authority. No matter the opposition we face, God’s power is unmatched (Exodus 9:16).
- Trust God’s Timing and Plan: The plagues were part of God’s process to bring freedom to His people. Though it took time, God’s plan was perfect. We, too, must trust God’s timing as He fights for us.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for fighting for me. Like Moses, help me to remain obedient and trust in Your plan, even when I face resistance. I believe that Your power is greater than any opposition in my life. Strengthen my faith and remind me that You are working for my good and Your glory. Amen.
Challenge:
Reflect on an area in your life where God is calling you to trust Him and act in obedience. Take one step today, no matter how small, to follow His leading. Trust that He is fighting for you and working through you to accomplish His purpose.
