OCTOBER 29 – Reading 302

“HEALING IN PROGRESS”
(Matthew 15:1 – 16:28; Mark 7:1 – 9:1; Luke 9:18-27)

“Then Jesus laid his hands on his eyes again; and he opened his eyes, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.”  – Mark 8:25 (ESV)

I’ve always been fascinated by the miracle of the blind man found in Mark 8.  In many of Jesus’ healings people were restored immediately but not in this story.  We read that the blind man saw only partially after the first touch from Jesus. It took a second touch for his sight to be fully healed.  What we learn from this is that sometimes healing or answers don’t come all at once. There are times when Jesus works in stages and that’s okay.

This moment in Scripture mirrors the way we often experience life with God. Just like the blind man, we may find ourselves in seasons where we only see part of what God is doing. Things feel blurry, uncertain, or unfinished. But just as Jesus didn’t leave the man halfway healed, He won’t leave us stuck in the middle of our process. He is kind and patient, walking with us step by step, even when clarity hasn’t come yet.

You might feel like you’re in that “in-between” place, not where you used to be, but not quite where you hoped to be. If so, take heart in knowing that even if your vision is still cloudy, Jesus hasn’t stopped working! He sees the whole picture and in His perfect timing He will bring it into focus. His touch is steady, and His grace is enough even while the miracle is still unfolding.

Simple Truth:
Jesus doesn’t always work instantly, but He always finishes what He starts.

Reflections:

  • Am I trusting Jesus even when I don’t have full clarity?
  • What area of my life do I need to bring back to Jesus for a “second touch”?

Application:

  • Be patient with God’s timing in your life.
  • Remember that healing and growth can take time.
  • Keep spending time with Jesus.  He is faithful to complete His work.

Closing Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being patient with me. When things feel unclear or unfinished, help me to trust You more. I believe You are still working, and I invite You to keep healing, guiding, and strengthening me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
