Day 22: Thanksgiving, Gratitude & Celebration (Bonus Video)
21 Days of Prayer
Thanksgiving, Gratitude & Celebration
(Psalm 100; 1 Thessalonians 5:18)
Welcome to Day 22 (Bonus) of 21 Days of Prayer
We are on Day 22 (Bonus)—we have pressed, sought, and asked! Today is all about gratitude—remembering what God has done, celebrating answered prayers, and thanking Him for who He is and what He continues to do.
Gratitude is not a fleeting feeling; it’s a discipline that changes the atmosphere of your heart and your circumstances.
We are commanded to approach God with a heart full of praise, rooted in His nature:
Psalm 100 (ESV):
“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into His presence with singing!… Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise! Give thanks to Him; bless His name! For the Lord is good; His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness to all generations.”
And the posture of thanksgiving is meant to be constant:
1 Thessalonians 5:18 (ESV):
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
Gratitude is powerful because it actively fights against negative forces:
- It shifts your focus from the problem to the Provider.
- It strengthens your faith and breaks heaviness.
- It guards your heart from bitterness, envy, and negativity.
- It reminds you of God’s unchanging goodness, faithfulness, and presence.
Today, we pause and deliberately thank God for every answered prayer over these 21 days—big or small. We’re thanking Him for guidance, healing, salvation, protection, unity, and transformation. We celebrate what God is doing among us!
Your 21-Day Prayer Focus: Day 22 (Bonus)
Today, our prayers are simple acts of worship and acknowledgment of God’s goodness. Pray specifically for these three things:
- For Specific Answered Prayers: Take time to identify two specific prayers from the last 20 days that you believe God has already begun to answer (e.g., peace, healing, wisdom, boldness). Thank Him fervently for His faithfulness in those areas.
- For God’s Unchanging Character (Psalm 100): Thank God for who He is—His goodness, His enduring steadfast love, and His faithfulness that spans all generations. Let your worship today be rooted in His character, not just His gifts.
- For the Church’s Blessings: Thank God for the specific blessings you see in Transformation Life Church (TLC)—our unity, our children, our leaders, the diversity of our congregation, and the simple ability to gather and worship freely. Pray that our corporate gratitude would be visible to the world.
Your Action Step for Today
Action: Speak three things you are personally thankful for out loud. Then, thank God for one specific blessing in your church family.
Confession: Say this out loud:
“Lord, thank You. You have been faithful. You are good, and Your love endures forever. I give You all the glory, and I choose gratitude in every circumstance.”
Walk today with expectation: Gratitude is the gateway to joy, and joy is the strength we need for what’s next.
