DAY 1 — BETWEEN ENTHRONEMENT AND RETURN
History is not drifting. It is moving toward Christ’s return.
Daniel foresaw this enthronement centuries earlier:
“With the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man… And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him.”
Daniel 7:13–14
The same mountain where he ascended into heaven is the promised place of his return. He will soon come again and walk through the Kidron Valley and into Jerusalem through the Eastern Gate.
Earthly Kings have tried to close the gate and defile the ground in front of it. Here is the truth, no man conceived plot can keep God from fulling His plans! Jesus will return and accomplish everything Scripture declares about him!
Though we long for His appearing, we now live between ascension and His return. We are told to occupy until He comes.
So, this is not spectator time. It is witness time.
How is your life a living testimony that Jesus is alive? What evidence do you show as proof of our resurrected savior and our held belief that he is coming soon?
If Christ returned tonight, what unfinished surrender would matter?
I mean this: If Jesus — the reigning King of Acts 1 — were visibly revealed, what area of your life would immediately feel exposed?
Not in a shame-based way. In a truth-based way.
Because when authority becomes visible, pretense collapses.
“Unfinished surrender” refers to areas where:
- You intellectually agree with Jesus, but practically resist Him.
- You delay obedience.
- You justify what you know is misaligned.
- You’re holding onto control in a place He has already claimed.
It’s the difference between belief and allegiance.
So the line is really asking: If the invisible King suddenly became visible,
what part of your life would you wish you had yielded sooner?
The Apostle Paul reminds us that:
“Everyone will give account of himself to God.”
Romans 14:12
Not to frighten. To focus. The early Christians lived with that kind of clarity — not anxiety — clarity. It sharpened them. We must live this way too!
Concrete step:
Write one sentence describing the kind of person you want to be found as when He returns.
Take one step toward that today.
