“HE HEARS, HE ANSWERS”
(Psalms 64:1-10; 65:1-13; 66:1-20)

“But God has surely listened and has heard my prayer.”— Psalm 66:19

I’ve heard it said many times, “God answers prayers.” But if you’re like me, there are moments when our prayers can feel like they are going unheard, especially when we’re in the middle of a trial or a challenging season. Psalm 66:19 assures us that God truly hears our prayers. The psalmist confidently declares that God has surely listened and heard his plea. This is not an uncertain hope, but a firm belief. God listens intently to our cries and prayers, and His response is always in perfect alignment with His will for our lives. Even in moments of silence, we can trust that He is actively listening and working behind the scenes.

What a powerful reminder this is for us! When life feels overwhelming, it’s easy for us to think that our prayers are going unanswered. But this verse reminds us that God, in His loving kindness, hears every word we say. Whether they are in joy, sorrow, need, or praise, God is attentive to our hearts. He may not always answer in the way we expect, but He always responds with love, wisdom, and in the timing that is best for us.

Simple Truth:
God listens to our prayers and responds with love and wisdom. We can trust that He hears us.

Reflections:

  1. Prayer is not just a monologue; it is a conversation with a loving Father who is always attentive. Even when we don’t hear a direct answer right away, He is still listening.

  2. Trusting in God’s response means surrendering our timing and expectations to His perfect will. He answers in ways that we may not always understand, but His answers are always for our good.

Application:

  • Take time today to reflect on your own prayer life. Are there prayers you’ve been waiting for an answer to? Trust that God has heard your cry, and keep trusting His timing.

  • Practice being patient and trusting in God’s responses. Even if you don’t see the answer immediately, rest in knowing He is at work, and His answer will be perfect.

Closing Prayer:
Lord, thank You for always listening to my prayers. I know that You hear me, even when it feels like I’m not getting an answer right away. Help me to trust Your perfect timing and know that You are always working in my life. Thank You for being a loving Father who listens and responds with wisdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
