What Does the Resurrection Change?
WEEK 4 DAY 3— WHEN FEAR LOST ITS AUTHORITY
Welcome back.
Yesterday, we saw that because Jesus walked out of the grave, death no longer decides the end.
And if death no longer has the last word, something else begins to lose its power.
Fear.
Fear doesn’t disappear overnight.
And peace doesn’t instantly feel dominant.
Even after seeing Jesus alive, the doors are still locked.
But something has shifted.
The worst thing the disciples feared has already happened—and it has been defeated.
Hebrews chapter two tells us that Jesus frees those who were held in slavery by the fear of death.
Notice what changes.
They don’t become fearless.
They become free.
Fear may still be present, but it no longer has authority.
Weeks later, in Acts chapter four, these same men stand publicly and say,
“We cannot but speak of what we have seen.”
Not because fear vanished—
but because fear no longer had the final word.
The same shift happens for us.
Fear doesn’t disappear, but it loses its right to decide.
Obedience stops feeling reckless.
Sacrifice stops feeling pointless.
Because resurrection means nothing done for Christ is ever wasted.
The resurrection doesn’t remove risk.
It gives courage a foundation.
Here’s your action step today.
Identify one decision you’ve been postponing because of fear.
Take one small, faithful step forward—nothing dramatic, just real.
