Alignment Before Fire

DAY 3 — WHY POWER IS DANGEROUS

Here is the promise:

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 1:8

Notice what power is for.

Witness.

  • Not prestige.
  • Not personal advancement.

Witness.

John Stott wrote, “The Spirit was given not for our enjoyment but for our employment.”

  • Power in human systems protects position.
  • Power in the kingdom proclaims truth.

Here’s the deeper layer:

  • Unaligned people with influence cause harm.
  • Aligned people with influence create courage in others.

Disruptive question:

If God increased your influence tomorrow, what would it magnify?

Concrete step:

Ask someone you trust: “Where does ego show up in me?”
